I recently had the opportunity to photograph the Unique Market’s very first Unique Studio Tour of three local artists’ studios: Robert Siegel Studio, P.F. Candle Co., and Hedley & Bennett. The tour started in the warehouse district at The Unique Space with refreshments and gift bags, and then we were picked up by a school bus (legit!) and taken from studio to studio in downtown Los Angeles, with time to chat with the artists, watch them work, and tour their studios.
Robert brings tons of personality and humor to his craft, the team at P.F Candle Co. is an incredible ground-up company with so much heart, and Ellen at Hedley & Bennett is a motivational powerhouse unto herself. My biggest takeaway from everyone was “just do the thing, and figure it out as you go.” (Which coincidentally is exactly how I got into photography.)
